On our recent trip to Cape Cod there were plenty of opportunities to photograph these fences that are designed to keep the sand from blowing all over. In addition to the sand, there was plenty of the classic beach grasses that are so prevalent on the east coast.

One more from Utah
This was taken up near the top of Boulder Mountain where we definately saw some fall color in the aspens. I liked the lines caused by the different layers of tree lines and the canyon floor in the background.

Long Canyon
This is an example of what we saw in Long Canyon, which was just a few miles away from Boulder, Utah. As the name implies it was a long canyon with a paved road going down it's length. The canyon walls were probably 50 yards across and the canyon walls about 800 to 1000 feet tall. Numerous interesting patterns in the walls along with trees growing out the sides.
Here's an example of one of the interesting patterns. Looked like a dog's profile to me.
There was a small side canyon that was carved into Long Canyon. This next photo was taken from the back of it looking out the entrance and across to the other wall of Long Canyon. The tree was back lit and created a nice composition.

Sunrise on Boulder Mountain
On the first morning of the photo tour I took with John Barclay and Dan Sniffin, we drove up to the view point on Boulder Mountain and had this view of the Grand Staircase. It reminds me of the kind of view you can see in the Smokey Mountains, sans the trees and fog. It was a great start to our time with John and Dan.
